Processors | (2) Intel Xeon Scalable Gen 2
The HPE ProLiant ML350 Gen10 Tower/Rack Server supports up to 2 Intel Xeon Scalable Gen 2 processors, offering exceptional performance and scalability. Mixing processors is not supported.
1P models include 2 standard fans, while 2P models require the Redundant Fan Kit (874572-B21) to increase the total to 6 fans.
Processors with a TDP over 85W use the Performance heat sink (879150-001), while lower TDP processors use the Standard heat sink (879468-001), ensuring efficient cooling and reliable operation for demanding workloads.
Cooling | Heatsink & Fans
The Performance Heatsink (879150-001)
If the Processor you installed has a TDP of over 85W. Then the Performance Heatsink (879150-001) will replace the standard heatsink (879468-001).
The ML350 supports up to (2) CPUs. If both CPUs are installed, you will also need to install the redundant fan kit (874572-B21) which takes the system from 2 fans to a total of 6 fans.
GPUs are not recommended for use in office environments especially under stress mode when system fans are running at full speed.
The redundant fan kit (874572-B21)
The redundant fan kit (874572-B21) takes the system from 2 fans to 6 fans. Below are some configuration that require this kit.
- Both CPUs are installed
- All 3 Drive Boxes are filled
- All NVMe Drives/HHHL
- ALL GPU installations
- 10K, 15K or higher RPM SAS drives
- Required for M.2 drives
- 10 Gigabit Ethernet adapters (867707-B21)
- 25 Gigabit Ethernet adapters (P08458-B21)
- 100 Gigabit Ethernet adapters (874253-B21)
- HPE InfiniBand Cards

Each Processor handles 12 DIMMs with a total of 24 DIMMs in a 2 Socket Configuration. The HPE ProLiant ML350 Gen10 Tower/Rack Server offers flexible memory options but does not support mixing RDIMM and LRDIMM memory types. The server supports 2933 MT/s DDR4 DIMMs with 2nd generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors, while 2666 MT/s DDR4 DIMMs are compatible with 1st generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors. This ensures optimized performance tailored to the processor generation in use, providing reliable and scalable memory support for diverse workloads.

- Max (RDIMM) 1.5 TB 24 x 64 GB @ 2933 MT/s
Storage
Mixing LFF with SFF?
HPE ML350 Gen 10 has allowed the mixing of Drive Form Factors. When doing so please select the 4 LFF CTO Server (877625-B21) as the base configuration to start with when mixing Drive Form Factors (ex. 4LFF + 8SFF + 4LFF).
4LFF None Hot-Plug (NHP) SKU supports SATA hard disk drives only. NHP drive cage is for NHP server only.
Adding NVMe Drives!
The special feature of the 8SFF Chassis (877626-B21) is the ability to add up to 8 NVMe Drives in Box 2 only. For support up to 8 NVMe drives, we need to install 2x4NVMe Risers and Support Cables (874569-B21). If only 1 Riser is installed the server can only support up to 4 NVMe drives. If you don’t want the NVMe to take up a drive bay, you can install the PCIe NVMe SSD HH/HL Enablement Cards (P26934-B - P26936-B2).
Anytime NVMe drives are installed, you'll need the Redundant Fan Cage Kit (874572-B21) installed. NVMe support is limited in SFF systems.

Expansion Slots
Since there are only 8 PCI-e Slots, a Double-Wide GPU takes up two slots. We can quickly run out of room if we are not carefully thinking of the entire configuration. If you have 8 NVMe Drives installed. That means you have 2 PCI-e slots being used up and they have dedicated slots of 1 and 3. While if you have 24 SFF drives installed that means you have the SAS Expander card in the dedicated PCI-e slot 4 and up to 2 Smart Array in support. In each configuration, the GPU quantity will vary.

GPU Accelerators
GPU Requirements
- All GPUs require the Redundant Fan Cage Kit (874572-B21).
- Mixing of GPUs is not supported.
- HPE ML350 Gen10 GPU External Power Cable Kit (877628-B21) is required with GPU modules TDP larger than 75W
The 1600W RPS (830272-B21) is recommended when configuring the system with a high-powered GPU. The 800W RPS will work too (per GPU).
Notes:
These GPUs are not recommended for use in office environments especially under stress mode when system fans are running at full speed.
NVLINK Supported
This server supports NVIDIA NVLink technology for specific accelerators. This technology allows two matching accelerators to communicate directly through a high-speed interconnection— NVLink bridge. This interconnection effectively combines the available memory of both accelerators for increased workload performance.
2nd Gen Intel Xeon Supported GPUs
The following GPUs only work with 2nd Gen Intel Xeon Processors.
- NVIDIA T4 16GB Computational Accelerator for HPE (R0W29C)
- NVIDIA A2 16GB PCIe Non-CEC Accelerator for HPE (R9H23C)
Storage Controllers
The HPE ML350 Gen10 come installed with the Embedded SW RAID S100i onboard SATA Storage Controller. This S100i can support up to 14 SATA drives. When using this S100i the cable kits are different. S100i LFF Cables (877578-B21), S100i SFF Cabled (877579-B21).
This S100i can be upgraded with an AROC Module or a PCIe Adapter Card. The AROC has a dedicated connector and does not take up a PCIe slot.
Flash Back Write Cache (FBWC)
Hewlett Packard Enterprise offers two centralized backup power source options to back up write cache content on P-class Smart Array controllers in case of an unplanned server power outage. One energy pack option can support multiple devices. An energy pack option is required for P-class Smart Array controllers. The HPE Smart Storage Hybrid Capacitor is only supported on Gen10 and later servers.
Let’s talk power!
All three models come with the Redundant Power Supply (RPS) (874571-B21) and a PDB. This RPS can hold up to 2 PSU depending on the desired power needed. The mixing of 2 different power supplies is NOT allowed. The selection of two HPE Flex Slot power supplies provides 1+1 power redundancy. The 1600W RPS is recommended when the system is configured with a high-power GPU. The 800W RPS will work too (per GPU) – depending on the configuration. With GPUs you will need this cable kit as well (877628-B21).
If you want to revert to the Non-Hot-Plug PSU, the RPS will be removed and you must select the tower version.
Lights Out! iLO 5
iLO 5
A remote server management processor embedded on the system boards of HPE ProLiant servers and Synergy compute modules. iLO enables the monitoring and controlling of servers from remote locations.
iLO RESTful API
Redfish API conformance and offers simplified server management automation such as configuration and maintenance tasks based on modern industry standards.
HPE OneView Standard
can be used for inventory, health monitoring, alerting, and reporting without additional fees. It can monitor multiple HPE server generations. The user interface is like the HPE OneView Advanced version, but the software-defined functionality is not available.
