The MX7000 supports 14G Next-Generation Modular (NGM) compute sleds but does not support 13G, FX2 or M1000e form-factor sleds. The MX7000 Power Supplies(PSUs) utilize a new front-loading form factor. Up to six PSUs plug into the front of the chassis. There are two different types of fan module used in the MX7000 chassis, 60mm fans in the front and 80mm fans in the rear.	The storage sled shall use the Fab-C interconnect within the chassis to communicate with the IOMs. The Management Module (MM) internal network switch supports dual 1000BASE-T uplink ports to the chassis management network. The PowerEdge MX5016s does not plug into any other enclosures such as M1000e, FX2 or VRTX. Sixteen side loading, hot pluggable 2.5” drives in a front translating sled Hot-serviceable Dual Expanders providing dual SAS paths to all HDDs	Once mapped to servers, the drives are configured, monitored, and updated via the iDRAC with Lifecycle Controller. Dual x4 SAS links to the PowerEdge MX7000 infrastructure Manage multiple PowerEdge MX groups, rack servers, and legacy modular systems with OpenManage Enterprise.	Support PowerEdge RAID Controller(PERC) H745PMX and HBA 330MMZ. SATA and NVMe drives are not supported but mixing of rotational and SSD SAS drives is supported. Up to 112 drives, 7 storage sleds within the PowerEdge MX chassis (plus 6 internal server storage drives).

Overview

A fully configurable single-width compute sled powered by up to two-28-core 2nd Generation Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors. Each PowerEdge MX740c supports 24 DDR4 DIMM slots and up to six 2.5-inch SAS/SATA (HDD/SDD) or Express Flash NVMe PCIe SSDs drives. A maximum of eight MX740c servers can be installed in the PowerEdge MX7000 chassis.
