The DL325 Gen10 Plus is a bit different than the rest. This 1U 1P server holds 16 DIMM slots per processor, 8 channels per processor, and 2 DIMMs per channel. Mixing of x4 & x8 memory is not allowed and 3200 MT/s memory SKUs offer a transfer rate of 3200 MT/s at 1 DIMM per channel and 2933 MT/s at 2 DIMMs per channel.
HPE DL325 Gen10 Plus Memory Capacity - Maximum capacity (RDIMM) 1.0 TB 16 x 64 GB RDIMM @ 3200 MT/S at 1 DPC
The DL325 Gen10 Plus supports the Second-Generation AMD 7000 Processor series delivering up to 2X [1] the performance of the prior generation. With more cores, increased memory bandwidth, enhanced storage, and PCIe Gen4 capabilities, the HPE ProLiant DL325 offers two-socket performance in a one-socket 1U rack profile.
A Smart Array PCIe plug-in controller is supported in slot 2 and slot 3 only due to cabling limitations. If the slimline primary riser is installed, the controller is not supported in slot 2. If the slimline secondary riser is installed, the controller is not supported in slot 3. A slimline slot does not allow a PCI card to be installed and is for the NVMe drive connections.
This rack server can support an OCP card or a PCIe Standup Adapter to offer networking expandability. The OCP does not take up a PCI slot and is the preferred method of installing a network card. The DL325 Gen10 Plus also supports Type-A Performance Arrays and support up to 24 Drives with a 12GB SAS Expander in slot 1 of the primary riser. The Type-A Smart Arrays have their own dedicated slot and do not take up or limit the PCI riser cards. If you install a performance RAID controller, you will require the HPE 12W Smart Storage Battery (782961-B21) which is sold separately. If you install the Smart Storage Battery, then you also need to upgrade the fans with the HPE DL325 Gen10 Plus Megacell Battery Fan Kit (P20422-B21). A side note, a minimum of two Gigabytes (2 GB) of server memory is required per each adapter.
Chassis Options
The DL325 Gen10 Plus + has very different drive setups. You have 4 Chassis to choose from but really when it comes to drives and upgrading the drive. You only have 1 option. The P18606-B21 CTO Model comes with no Drive cage and is a Short Chassis meaning it has only a second Internal Drive Bay. This CTO model does not come with an option for a third Internal Drive Bay.

- Hot Plug LFF SAS 168 TB 12 x 14 TB
- Hot Plug LFF SATA 168 TB 12 x 14 TB
- Hot Plug LFF SAS SSD 6 TB 12 x 800 GB
- Hot Plug LFF SATA SSD 23 TB 12 x 1.92 TB
- Hot Plug SFF SAS 6 TB 24 x 2.4 TB
- Hot Plug SFF SATA 6 TB 24 x 2.4 TB
- Hot Plug SFF SAS SSD 2 TB 24 x 15.3 TB
- Hot Plug SFF SATA SSD 3 TB 24 x 7.68 TB
- Hot Plug SFF NVMe PCIe U.3 SSD 16 TB 24 x 3.84 TB
LFF Chassis
Mixing of LFF & SFF drive cages is not allowed. There is a CTO with no Drive Cage installed (P18606-B21). You are required to select a drive cage. Below are the options for the P18606-B21 CTO server and their part numbers.
LONG chassis
The Chassis below are configured with the LONG chassis that has 3 Drive Bays. 1 Outer drive bay and 2 Internal drive bays. The Long Chassis does not support the 2SFF optional drives in any form factor.
M.2 Drives
HPE NS204i-p NVMe OS Boot Device (P14379-001) supports 2x480GB NVMe drives along with the Universal SATA M.2 Kit (878783-B21). Both cards will require a PCIe slot and support up to two of the same M.2 cards. On the 24SFF U.3 NVMe Chassis, the M.2 kit can only be populated in Slot 1 because Slot 2/3 is already taken up by NVMe connections.
There is an issue when installing the 2SFF UFF Enablement Kit (P15540-B21). The HPE Manuals say the M.2 Stand-up card can’t be installed with the 2SFF uFF Drives.
Like with older HPE servers the Software RAID usually works with the M.2 drive. On the DL325 Gen10 Plus, this is not the case. The embedded HPE SR100i Gen10 Plus Software RAID Controller does not support RAID setup for the M.2 SATA SSD enablement option.
PCI Risers
We have two Riser Cages holding a few Riser Cards options for each. The Primary Riser Cage is a butterfly Cage and supports 2 Riser card options. The secondary riser has 3 riser card options. The non-slimline riser can support low-profile (P17264-B21) and FHHL (P20421-B21) cards. Only one of the options for each riser can be installed at any one time.
There is a Riser card Slot option called Slimline. These Slimline risers are extra NVMe connections for the NVMe Drives. When the Primary x16 2x8 slimline riser (P20157-001) is installed, a PCIe card can only go into Slot 1. Same with the secondary riser, if the Secondary 2x8 slimline riser (P20158-001) is installed. No PCIe card can be installed in slot 3.

Some more limitation with riser cards is the fact the secondary riser has an FHHL x16 Riser option which can support a GPU card. If the FHHL Riser is installed in the secondary riser. It makes the Primary Riser slot 2 obsolete and slot 3 goes from a Low-Profile PCIe slot to a Full-Height PCIe slot.
If you have any questions, please contact us. We know these servers can get complex sometimes.
Cooling
All CTO Models ship with redundant fan configuration.
Processors with greater than 150W will ship with the High-Performance heatsink.
24 SFF and 12 LFF & chassis ship with 8 High-performance fans as standard.
NOTE: 24 SFF NVMe U.3 chassis ship with 8 High-performance fans as standard
NOTE: High-performance fan kit is available to meet ambient temperature environments.
GPU / Workload Accelerator
The GPU option is supported in slot 1 or slot 3 only. The only secondary riser that supports the GPUs is the FHHL Secondary Riser (P20421-B21). When a Full-Height card is installed, slot 2 of the primary riser is not used. The Full-Height card takes up the same space in the 1U Rack server.
Flex Slot your power!
Mixing of 2 different power supplies is NOT allowed. HPE Flexible Slot (Flex Slot) Power Supplies share a common electrical and physical design that allows for hot plug, tool-less installation into HPE ProLiant Gen10 Plus Servers. Flex Slot power supplies are certified for high-efficiency operation and offer multiple power output options, allowing users to "right-size" a power supply for specific server configurations. This flexibility helps to reduce power waste, lower overall energy costs, and avoid "trapped" power capacity in the data center.
More Info
All CTO servers are Energy Star 3.0 compliant.
CTO servers do not ship with rail kits, they need to be ordered separately.
UEFI is the default for the DL325 Gen10 Plus. Legacy mode can be selected in the field or as a CTO option (758959-B22).
